The Personal

As a passionate UI/UX designer with a keen interest in creating user-centric digital experiences, I embarked on a personal project to develop Picfy – a photo and video editing app. Motivated by the desire to simplify the often complex world of editing software, I aimed to design an application that caters to a diverse audience, from beginners to seasoned editors.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to strike the delicate balance between simplicity and functionality. Creating an app that was accessible for beginners without sacrificing advanced features for professionals required thoughtful design decisions. Additionally, ensuring a seamless experience across various devices and maintaining an aesthetically pleasing interface presented its own set of challenges.

Key Objectives

User-Friendly Interface

Comprehensive Editing Tools

Creativity Empowerment

Cross-Platform Consistency

Solution

To address these challenges and meet the objectives, the solution involved a meticulous design process. The interface was carefully crafted to be clean and uncluttered, with easily identifiable icons. The navigation was simplified, ensuring that users could find the tools they needed without feeling overwhelmed.

The app incorporated a wide range of editing tools, including AI-powered enhancements for automatic improvements. A thoughtful system of filters and presets, coupled with customization options, empowered users to create unique edits effortlessly.

Role

In this project, I played a multifaceted role encompassing both UI and UX design. From ideation to prototyping and testing, every stage of the design process was approached with a user-centric mindset. Conducting user testing sessions and iterating on feedback were integral parts of refining the user interface and overall experience.

Tools

The design process leveraged industry-standard tools such Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop.
